Who to refer
Refer as Urgent Suspicious of Cancer:
Following treatment for a Urinary Tract Infection:
- haematuria persists despite treatment
- or recurs after it
- or there is no proven infection
Patients >45 with negative culture or no symptoms of UTI.
Refer Urgently:
- Patient <45y with negative culture or persistent symptoms
Who not to refer
Those with a UTI in whom symptoms settle with treatment and do not recur.
