- Tinnitus and balance disorder – refer but please maximise Primary Care management including use of Epley. There is also the Audiology BPPV pathway.
- EAR EMERGENCIES:
- Sudden sensorineural hearing loss –CONSIDER GIVING ORAL STEROIDS IMMEDIATELY (40mg for 7 days) and phone on-call ENT at St John’s.
- Mastoiditis – same day emergency referral to ENT on call at St Johns.
- Ear Wax – can generally be managed in Primary Care CTACS.
