- Immediate pain
- Possible effusion – slow onset
- Difficulty weight bearing
- Medial pain
Signs
- Limp
- Local tenderness
- Possible effusion
- Possilbe MCL laxity
- Difficulty kneel/squat
Secondary care referral
- Not indicated unless fails to improve in 6weeks or gross laxity detected
Primary care investigations
- X-Ray – AP standing & lateral
Primary care treatment
- Analgesia
- PRICE (Protection, Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation)
- Physiotherapy
