A ganglion cyst is a fluid filled swelling that develops near a joint or tendon and can occur near any joint. They occur most commonly on the wrists, or ankles. The cyst can range from the size of a pea to a golf ball. They should feel like a smooth lump under the skin. They shouldn’t limit a child’s Rom or activities.

Most resolve spontaneously, but this may take several years. 


Unsure of diagnosis,

If it is Painful or limiting a child’s activities.

If at all concerned, please refer for an Ultrasound scan or orthopaedic opinion.
