West Lothian CTACS

Information

CTACS in West Lothian are largely based within, or in close proximity to, each GP practice (many of them previously known to patients and practices as the community treatment rooms). Every West Lothian practice and its associated patients has access to a specific CTACS facility.

Who can refer:

Patients can self-refer to services. All practice receptionists will know the number for the local CTACs to allow patients to book an appointment. Alternatively, the number may be available on practice websites.

GPs and their extended teams can refer to the CTACS services below for assessment or review.

Secondary care clinicians can refer for dressings, wound care or suture/staple removal.

Who to refer:

Patients can be referred or self-refer for:

  • Dressings
  • ECG
  • Doppler (ABPI) testing
  • B12 injections
  • Wound Care
  • Ear irrigation following preparation
  • Removal of Sutures/Clips
  • Injection (locally agreed by practice and CTACS – check with GP receptionist)
  • Catheter Care

Who not to refer:

Those requiring secondary care phlebotomy not covered by specific agreement – please see the Lothian CTACS page for details of the current service.

How to refer:

Patients or staff can phone CTACs reception (number accessible from GP receptionist if not already known to patient or by checking practice website).
