Sexual Assault Services

Every health board has a Sexual Assault Response Coordination Service (SARCS), which offers forensic examination, and is the prime referral pathway for those who have suffered a sexual assault. Please note that people can self-refer for support even if they do not want police involvement. Patient information is available on NHS Inform: www.nhsinform.scot/sarcs.

The SARCS page also outlines the timeframe for examinations and tests and the other support SARCS offers those who have been raped or sexually assaulted.

Patients can also present to other services such as Healthy Respect or peripheral clinics
