About us

The Oral Health Service (OHS) delivers specialised oral health care, leads oral health improvement for the population of Lothian and provides excellent training of oral health professionals for the future.

The OHS was established in 2016 following the integration of the NHS Lothian Hospital Dental Service (HDS) based at the Edinburgh Dental Institute, and the NHS Lothian Public Dental Service (PDS).  The OHS also supports the University of Edinburgh in the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate dental education.
