Mid-East Lothian Alcohol & Drug Services

Midlothian & East Lothian Drugs and Alcohol Partnership (MELDAP) has representation from NHS Lothian, both Councils and others to develop services, summarised in its MELDAP directory.

Mid and East Lothian Drugs (MELD)

MELD provides free confidential services to those in Mid- and East Lothian needing help with drug misuse including: information, advice and support; counselling, needle exchange, Naloxone provision and family support groups. Services for Young People.

The Midlothian Young People’s Advice Service (MYPAS) supports children and young people (10-21) using drugs or alcohol as well as providing a range of other mental health and wellbeing services. They are based in Dalkeith (and Tranent). Please phone 0131 454 0757 or email enquiries@mypas.co.uk. The service also offers a Digital Drop-in Service.

East Lothian

East Lothian Substance Use Service (Eastspace) is a multidisciplinary nurse-led community-based service provided in partnership between NHS Lothian, MELDAP and East Lothian IJB. It provides a full range of assessment, support, prescribing, psychological and mental health services. The service is for those 18 years old or over, experiencing difficulties relating to alcohol and / or drug use, accessed by referral or self-referral. Please see the website for full details.
