Knee pain – traumatic

Information

Knee injuries in children are more likely to be fractures than ligament injuries. A traumatic knee effusion is usually a haemarthosis, associated with a fracture and this should be investigated in ED

Patella subluxations / dislocations are also common causes of knee pain
