In a baby, DDH manifests as
- Limited hip abduction
- Leg length discrepancy (if unilateral)
- Instability on examination
Once walking, DDH presents with
- limp
If less than 9 months, please refer urgently to Paediatric orthopaedics
If over 9 months old, you can refer directly for a hip X-ray (AP pelvis, both hips)
