CAMHS offers telephone and consultations for PROFESSIONALS to offer advice and help with management.
CAMHS Telephone Consultation Service
CAMHS clinicians are available for telephone consultation and advice, allowing information on children’s mental health accessible to all professionals working with children or young people within Lothian.
CAMHS will accept calls from ALL childcare professionals including Guidance Teachers, Head Teachers, Public Health Nurses, Family Support Workers, Social Workers, Voluntary Organisations etc. The telephone consultation offers advice, guidance and can provide access to CAMHS resources.
It is NOT an emergency or crisis line, nor is it there to discuss aspects of child protection. The telephone consultation service does not accept referrals, but can advise if one is needed. There is also scope for subsequent email discussion, where indicated.

CAMHS Community Consultations for Professionals.
All five teams offer face to face consultation slots with CAMHS clinicians that can be booked into by professionals. Please contact the appropriate team to book into a slot – the contact details are identical. Like telephone consultations, this service offers advice, guidance as well as discussion around potential referrals.
