There are multiple evidence-based approaches to reduce harm for those using drugs:
- Prescribing Medication Assisted Treatment
- Providing take home Naloxone
- Injecting Equipment Provision (IEP)
- Vaccinations, especially for Hepatitis B
- BBV testing and treatment
- c:card for condoms
The Harm Reduction Team offers:
- Drop-in for injecting equipment provision (needle exchange), dry blood spot testing for blood borne viruses or Naloxone supply
- Those using steroids and other image and performance and enhancing drugs can use The Exchange; however, there is a specialist Steroid Clinic open every Monday (except Monday holidays) between 5pm and 7pm
- Women’s Clinic Thursdays 2.30pm – 7pm (closed 4.30pm – 5pm)
- Wound Clinic: drop-in Thursdays 10.30am – 1.30pm
- Dental services: Drop in – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 12.30pm to 3:30pm (Names will be added to drop in 12pm onwards) – Appointments for the Dental service will only be given after attending the Drop In.
