Drug misuse treatment is evidence-driven:
Lothian GPs can participate in the enhanced service, which emphasises supportive care, harm reduction including BBV testing and Naloxone provision, and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for those who are stable.
The Primary Care Facilitator Team is available to GP teams for information, advice and support. The team provides a series of PCFT Briefs, with updates on a range of drug-related issues including Opiate Replacement Therapy (ORT), toxicology, HIV, polypharmacy, bereavement and many more.
