East Lothian Rehabilitation Service (ELRS) is an integrated Health and Social Care service made up of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners, CCW’s, Exercise Specialists and Telecare Technicians.
ELRS services are provided at different locations across the county including MSK services at MPCC, Dunbar Medical Practice, Edington and ELCH.
Our integrated Community teams are geographically cluster based:
- West – Musselburgh Primary Care Centre (MPCC)
- Central – East Lothian Community Hospital (ELCH)
- East – Belhaven Hub
ELRS offers Active and Independent Living Clinics and Smart TEC clinics at Well Wynd Hub, Tranent.
ELRS additionally provide OT/PT input to the inpatient beds at ELCH and Belhaven and a supported hospital discharge pathway – Discharge to Assess.
Within ELRS there are a number of pathways, these are:
- Community Physiotherapy
- Community Occupational Therapy, including access to Specialist Community OT services
- Prevention of Admission
- Community Respiratory Pathway
- Falls

All East Lothian residents are able to self-refer for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy input via our Single Point of Contact Phoneline – 03003690680 (LD and MH services are not accessible through this phoneline).
