These are delivered by maternity teams during routine appointments.
NHS Scotland recommends three vaccinations for pregnant women, namely the vaccines recommended in the selective immunisation programmes section of the complete routine immunisation schedule:
- flu vaccine – at any stage in pregnancy during flu season
- whooping cough vaccine – from 16 weeks
- RSV vaccine – from 28 weeks
Please note that only inactivated flu vaccine should be given.
