De Quervians-Physio

De Quervian’s Syndrome is a painful condition that involves irritation of the two tendons (APL & EPB) that run through a tunnel on the radial aspect of the wrist. 

What we will see

Patients who present with recent onset of De Quervain’s symptoms, and for whom oral or topical NSAIDs have been considered.

Clinical examination area of pain – palpation of radial side of wrist = tenderness, reduced ulnar deviation of wrist, positive Finklestein’s manoeuvre.

What we won’t see

Patients with diagnostic difficulties.

These patients should be referred to Plastic Surgery / Hand Surgery Unit.
