FORTRESS is a non-interventional prospective clinical registry which it aims to evaluate the clinical outcome and safety of using IV Fosfomycin to treat severely infected patients. Fosfomycin is a epoxide antibiotic, the only one of its kind, which has a lower molecular weight with excellent tissue penetration characteristics. These characteristics are what makes it it particularly useful for complicated deep-seated infections such as lung and brain abscesses or bone infections such as spondylodiscitis and diabetic foot infections. It is also used as a treatment for CNS infections as it crosses the (non-inflamed) blood-brain barrier.

InfectoPharm, the sponsor, have decided to perform this study to support the existing evidence from available literature of the efficacy and safety of intravenous Fosfomycin treatment in severely infected patients.

Primary Outcome : Percentage of patients with clinical success as defined as clinical cure or
clinical improvement analysed at end of treatment.
