The RIO Trial has published in the Lancet

Dr Rebecca Sutherland, the Principal Investigator on The RIO Trial in CIRG, was a co-author on the article.

The RIO Trial has published an article in the Lancet showing their findings from the study.

The RIO Trial is a randomised placebo controlled trial of ART plus dual long-acting HIV-specific broadly neutralising antibodies (bNAbs) vs ART plus placebo in treated Primary HIV Infection on viral control off ART.

The study aimed to demonstrate whether the combination of two long-acting (LS) broadly neutralising antibodies, 3BNC117-LS and 10-1074-LS, can keep viral load undetectable without antiretroviral treatment (ART). The study looked at how long viral load stays undetectable without ART and what happens to the HIV virus and immune system in blood samples.

Time to HIV rebound after infusion of long-acting broadly neutralising antibodies 3BNC117-LS and 10-1074-LS and analytical treatment interruption (the RIO trial): a double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled trial
