The healthcare professionals (HCP) who can now certify fit notes in addition to doctors are nurses, occupational therapists, pharmacists and physiotherapists. NHS Lothian has produced guidance for NMAHP clinicians and services who are seeking to implement fit note provision within their role and or service.
