However these have been suspended because of Covid and a <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/files\/sites\/2\/Mental-Health-Stress-Control-on-line-during-COVID-19.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stress Control online<\/a> version is available instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other options available free include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/PositiveMentalHealth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/GuidedSelfHelp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guided Self Help<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/TraumaPTSDAdults\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trauma and PTSD services \u2013 the Rivers Centre<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.veteransfirstpoint.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Veterans First Point<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/wellbeingselfreferrals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Online wellbeing self-referral modules<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/CounsellingAdults\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Counselling<\/a> can be beneficial for people experiencing relationship difficulties, anxiety or stress, bereavement or loss, feelings of hurt or rejection, change or loss of confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other resources include exercise for mental health, cCBT, telephone-based services and reading, with books available on prescription or from local libraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/mentalhealthpsychologyotherservices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mental Health (Psychology and Other Services)<\/a> for more detail.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"text-decoration:underline\"><strong>MIDLOTHIAN<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Midlothian Access Point provides a drop-in service for any who are stressed or need psychological help: <a href=\"\/files\/sites\/2\/Mental-Health-MidLothian-Access-Point.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stress MidLothian Access Point.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span>ANGER <\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Mental Health Services do not currently provide interventions where the primary issue is anger management. <a href=\"https:\/\/avpbritain.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alternatives to Violence Project<\/a> provides workshops for a fee and for people who live in Edinburgh, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edinburgh.gov.uk\/info\/20110\/domestic_abuse\/331\/help_for_men_being_abusive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Safer Families<\/a> is available for men who have been abusive; there is a parallel programme for women, too<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AMH can assess for co-morbid mental health problems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stress There are normally Stress Control Classes available in Edinburgh, East and Mid Lothian for anyone over eighteen wishing to learn how to manage stress more effectively.
