H.S 01-05-24<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs\" data-active-tab=\"0\"><ul class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__nav-links\"><\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__nav-link\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__title-wrapper\"><a href=\"#\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__title\">Referral Guidelines<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__tab-content-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__tab-content\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who to refer<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Recurrent UTI&#8217;s and Red Flags:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visible haematuria follow &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/haematuria-visible\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/haematuria-visible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Urology\/HaematuriaVISIBLE<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Persistent pelvic pain or continuous UTI symptoms despite antibiotic treatment:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aged less than 60 \u2013<strong> refer to Urology as Urgent<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aged 60 and over \u2013&nbsp;<strong>refer&nbsp;to Urology as Urgent Suspicion of Cancer<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>History of pelvic cancer \u2013 <strong>refer to Urology as Urgent<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>History of pelvic radiotherapy \u2013&nbsp;<strong>refer to Urology as Urgent<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>History of Urogynae procedures with mesh<strong> \u2013 refer to Urology as Routine<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>History of complex pelvic surgery \u2013 <strong>refer to Urology as Routine<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u22652 episodes of pyelonephritis\u2013 <strong>refer to Urology as Routine<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Recurrent UTI&#8217;s and no Red Flags:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Men<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Refer to Radiology for&nbsp;<strong>urinary tract USS&nbsp;<\/strong>(not renal USS) to include post void residual volume AND <strong>refer to Urology as Urgent<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Women<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Refer to Radiology for <strong>urinary tract USS<\/strong> (not renal USS) to include post void residual volume. <strong>If residual &gt;150mls Refer to Urology as Routine<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If infections persist despite trying all measures outlined above:<ul><li>If aged 60 and over &#8211;<strong> Refer to Urology as Urgent<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If aged less than 60 years &#8211;
