This might include Medicine Specialties, the CFS Service, Day Hospital or MoE clinic. Agreements around GP access to Radiology should also be considered if pertinent.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where a medical opinion or advice is required to prevent admission, the Medical Registrar or Consultant on call should be contacted via the switchboard (0131 537 1000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Requests for urgent care&nbsp; likely to require admission are made via the Flow Navigation Centre. For ambulant patients requiring acute assessment the <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/admissionsurgentcare\/samedayemergencycaresdec\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/admissionsurgentcare\/samedayemergencycaresdec\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) <\/a>service is appropriate.
