In most cases, anxiety in children is\ntemporary, and may be triggered by a specific stressful event e.g. young child\nmay experience separation anxiety when starting school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nsome cases, anxiety in children can be persistent and intense, interfering with\na child\u2019s daily routines and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anxiety\ndisorders include phobias, general anxiety, panic or persistent unexplained\nphysical symptoms, e.g. headache or stomach-ache. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attachment\ndisorders may also present with anxiety symptoms which may include refusal to\npartake in daily activities, such as school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CAMHS Anxiety Online Resources for Parents and Carers<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Parents, carers, and other trusted adults play a key role in helping children and young people manage anxiety. They help their child feel safe, support them to understand their emotions, and model calm ways of coping. They can also provide emotional containment by staying regulated and supportive when feelings become overwhelming.
