This includes:<ul><li>those in clinical at-risk groups set out in Influenza: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/influenza-the-green-book-chapter-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Green Book<\/a><\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/influenza-the-green-book-chapter-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">chapter 19 &#8211; GOV.UK<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>those experiencing homelessness  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>those experiencing substance misuse <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>asylum seekers living in Home Office hotel or B&amp;B accommodation  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>all prisoners within the Scottish prison estate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>pregnant women<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frontline health and social care workers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-frontline NHS workers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Poultry workers &amp; bird handlers (see Annex A for eligibility criteria)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unpaid carers and young carers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Household contacts of those with immunosuppression.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Full details on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhsinform.scot\/healthy-living\/immunisation\/#flu-vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NHS Inform \u2013 Adult Flu Vaccine<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Children and Flu:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flu eligibility also remains the same as for the 2024-5 programme with vaccination offered to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All children aged from 6 months to 18 years in clinical risk groups (if not eligible in accordance with bullets above)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All children aged 2-5 years not yet at school (age as of 01\/09\/2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All primary school children (primary one to primary seven)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All secondary school pupils (years one to six).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Children under 2 years old are given the injectable vaccine, with those aged 2-17 given the nasal spray unless there is a contraindication.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please see&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhsinform.scot\/healthy-living\/immunisation\/#child-flu-vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NHS Inform \u2013 Child Flu Vaccine<\/a><\/strong> for more detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>COVID-19<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>COVID-19 vaccination eligibility has changed since 2024-5<\/em>.<\/strong> It will be offered (with flu vaccine) to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All adults aged 75 years and over<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Residents in care homes for older adults<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed (as defined in tables 3 and 4 in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/covid-19-the-green-book-chapter-14a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book<\/a><\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>The following groups are no longer eligible<\/em><\/strong> (unless they fall into any of the three eligible groups listed above):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Those aged 65-74<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those in a clinical risk group (as defined in tables 3 and 4 in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/covid-19-the-green-book-chapter-14a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book<\/a>) <\/strong>including pregnant women<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frontline health and social care workers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>C.M. &amp; K.McL. 15-09-25<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COVID-19 and Influenza Vaccinations Full details of the winter 2025 COVID-19 and Influenza vaccine programmes are outlined in the CMO&rsquo;s letter.
