See \u2018how to refer\u2019 for further details.<\/mark><a id=\"_msocom_1\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This page relates to ADULT VACCINATIONS.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-standard-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fbc76938e5ce70df6971bc96f49da068\"><strong>Routine Immunisation of Children and Young People are provided by Children\u2019s Teams based in the 4 HSCPs and the Community Vaccination Team \u2013 please see<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/paediatrics\/vaccination-cyp-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Children and Young People Vaccinations<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Important notice<\/strong>: Please note that GPs do not provide vaccination services and patients should not be referred to their GPs for these. Clinicians seeing patients should advise them of the following services.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-decoration:underline\"><strong>NHS Lothian HSCP Vaccination Service &#8211; ADULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) Vaccination Service provides a variety of services for adults in Lothian, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Routine Vaccinations<\/strong>: Flu, pneumococcal, RSV and shingles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>COVID-19 Vaccinations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Missed <\/em><\/strong><strong>Childhood Vaccinations<\/strong>: For individuals up to age 25.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Additional Vaccinations<\/strong>: For people with underlying medical conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pre-Exposure Rabies Vaccination<\/strong>: Specifically for volunteer bat handlers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Completion Courses<\/strong>: Follow-up doses for vaccinations initially given as treatment post-exposure (e.g. subsequent tetanus doses after the first was administered at a Minor Injuries Service).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Services NOT provided by HSCP Vaccination Teams<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The HSCP Vaccination Teams <strong>do not<\/strong> provide the following services:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Travel Vaccination<\/strong>: Offered by the <a href=\"https:\/\/services.nhslothian.scot\/travelclinics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Travel Service<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mpox and  Gonorrhea Vaccination Programmes <\/strong>: Offered by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lothiansexualhealth.scot\/19-08-2024-mpox-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sexual Health Service<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rabies Post-Exposure Treatment<\/strong>:&nbsp; Available by <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/infectiousdiseases\/animal-bites-and-rabies-risk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rabies pathway<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Occupational Health or Private Vaccination Requests<\/strong>: Offered by private providers.&nbsp; Patients should seek advice from their employer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pertussis, flu and RSV during pregnancy<\/strong>: Offered by <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/vaccine-services\/maternity-vaccinations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Maternity<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hepatitis B for babies of mothers with Hepatitis B<\/strong>: Offered by 0-5 Vaccination Teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>C.M. &amp; K.McL. 14-08-25<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs\" data-active-tab=\"0\"><ul class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__nav-links\"><\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__nav-link\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__title-wrapper\"><a href=\"#\"><span class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__title\">Referral Guidelines<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__tab-content-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-tabs__tab-content\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-standard-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-33cf096e0c5626636972a3dfd3d77564\"><strong>How to refer:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-decoration:underline\"><strong>Additional Vaccines for Individuals with Underlying Medical Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clinicians can use the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/files\/sites\/2\/Non-Routine-Vaccines-Form-V23.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Non-Routine Vaccines Form<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;to request vaccination for&nbsp;individuals who require:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Expedited Vaccination<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>COVID-19, flu, pneumococcal, RSV or shingles vaccinations may be expedited to coincide with other treatment such as chemotherapy, or to be administered before anticipated immunosuppression.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Follow-up \/ Completion Doses<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For individuals who have received emergency vaccination post-exposure (e.g. tetanus, Hepatitis B).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Other non-routine vaccinations:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For people with underlying medical conditions as per Green Book guidance (note: referral is not required for pneumococcal or flu for these patients).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For women planning pregnancy who require MMR vaccination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Revaccination Programmes<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Following Stem Cell Transplant<strong>:<\/strong>&nbsp;As per agreed processes with the service, with Patient Specific Direction (PSD) in place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-decoration:underline\"><strong>Accessing Routine Vaccinations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>No Referral Form is Required<\/strong> for routine vaccinations (flu, pneumococcal, shingles, RSV and COVID-19).&nbsp; The service will contact patients directly if they are eligible.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Eligibility<\/strong> is determined based on age or clinical coding.&nbsp; New files of eligible people are shared with the Vaccination Service regularly.&nbsp;
