The link is located in the Resources and Links tab below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Understanding Corporate Parenting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NHS Lothian is by law considered a Corporate Parent. This means as an organisation and as employees we have a responsibility to provide care and support for children and young people who are in the care system. We extend this responsibility to individuals with&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/intranet.lothian.scot.nhs.uk\/Directory\/CorporateParenting\/whatdoescareexperiencedmean\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Care Experience<\/a>&nbsp;up to the age of 26, treating them with the same care and support as we would our own children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A person will be described as Care Experienced if they have been in care at any point in their life, regardless of duration. This includes kinship, secure, residential, foster care or being at home under a supervision order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thepromise.scot\/what-is-the-promise\/independent-care-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Independent Care Review: The Promise<\/a>&nbsp;was published as a framework to work towards:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Providing a more nurturing and supportive care system for children and young people in Scotland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensuring&nbsp;all children receive the same things they need to\u202fthrive: a stable home, strong support and steady, loving relationships<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating a positive and nurturing environment for growth and development&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensuring they have access to education, health services, social activities, and support during&nbsp;transition to adulthood.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information regarding Corporate Parenting, please see the video below<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/210787469\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/vimeo.com\/210787469<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>C.W. &amp;
