golfers elbow- Considerations relating to diagnosis<\/strong><br><br>Link to NICE CKS 2017 definitions and diagnostic considerations here;<br><a href=\"https:\/\/cks.nice.org.uk\/tennis-elbow#!diagnosissub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/cks.nice.org.uk\/tennis-elbow#!diagnosissub<\/a><br><br>Key points from the above documents (not exhaustive)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Women and men are affected equally, and peak incidence occurs between 35\u201354 years of age&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tennis elbow is the most common cause of persistent elbow pain, accounting for two-thirds of cases in general practice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Golfers elbow much less common than tennis elbow&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tennis elbow and golfers elbow are generally a self-limiting condition, and spontaneously improves in about 80\u201390% of people over 1\u20132 years&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Look for typical features (tennis elbow)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Localized point tenderness on palpation over and\/or distal to the lateral epicondyle and along the common extensor tendon.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resisted middle finger extension may be painful.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dorsiflex the wrist against resistance with the elbow flexed at 90 degrees \u2014 extending the elbow increases pain further.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grip strength may be reduced due to pain.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A full range of active and passive movement at the elbow and wrist joints is usually preserved.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Look for typical features (golfers elbow)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Localized point tenderness on palpation over and\/or distal to the medial epicondyle and along the common flexor tendon.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flexion the wrist against resistance with the elbow flexed at 90 degrees \u2014 extending the elbow increases pain further.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pain during resisted pronation is the most sensitive physical examination finding&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grip strength may be reduced due to pain.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A full range of active and passive movement at the elbow and wrist joints is usually preserved.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assess the neck and shoulder to exclude an alternative diagnosis, such as referred pain.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investigations are typically not required&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consider differential diagnosis&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>M.A. &amp;
