pandemic in 2020. No more so than in an infectious disease research department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On top of balancing their existing studies, some of which were paused due to the pandemic, the research team at the Regional Infectious Diseases Unit (RIDU) at the Western General Hospital took on the mammoth task of coordinating several COVID studies, including the\u00a0<a href=\"\/cirg\/projects\/cov002-oxford-vaccine-study\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oxford\/Astrazeneca COVID vaccine study<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"\/cirg\/projects\/recovery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RECOVERY<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this webinar, part of a series by NHS Lothian\u2019s Clinical Research Facility, GIRG\u2019s Research Coordinator and Lead Nurse,\u00a0Sheila Morris, gives her account of leading the team during this time, and the challenges that they faced.
